The Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management is an APM-recognised, CMI-endorsed Level 7 qualification built for professionals who lead, manage, or coordinate projects across any industry or sector.
Delivered entirely online and fully self-paced, this programme lets you develop advanced project leadership capability without stepping away from live project commitments. You will study six rigorous modules covering the full scope of modern project management: from principles, strategic portfolio alignment, and stakeholder engagement, to cost and time management, risk and quality control, and governance, ethics, and sustainability.
Every module connects directly to real-world project environments, building the analytical and leadership skills that drive successful delivery at scale.
On completion, you hold a globally recognised 120-credit postgraduate qualification, Foundation Chartered Manager status through CMI, and eligibility to apply for Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status through APM, with direct entry to the MSc in International Project Management at Coventry University.
Study the disciplines that matter most, from finance and marketing to leadership, operations, and sustainability, all connected directly to your working life.
This qualification builds the kind of project leadership capability that organisations compete for across every sector and every continent.
You will graduate with a CMI-endorsed, APM-recognised Level 7 diploma worth 120 postgraduate credits. You will also be eligible to apply for Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status through the Association for Project Management, the UK’s chartered body for the project profession and one of the most respected designations a project leader can hold globally.
You will have mastered the full project management lifecycle, from strategic alignment and stakeholder engagement to risk mitigation, cost control, and ethical governance.
The qualification also provides direct entry to the dissertation and internship stage of the MSc in International Project Management at Coventry University, making your path to a full master’s degree faster and more affordable.
Project management is a discipline defined by deadlines. This programme respects yours.
Everything is delivered online through TNHE Institute’s feature-rich learning platform, giving you round-the-clock access to recorded lectures, structured study materials, textbooks, and multimedia content. Each module carries approximately 60 guided learning hours, supported by an additional 30 to 50 hours of optional materials including recommended readings, self-testing exercises, and curated online resources.
Because the programme is fully self-paced, you can progress through modules according to your own project cycles and professional commitments, fast-tracking during quieter periods and slowing down when delivery demands peak.
On-demand tutoring is available at no additional cost, with tutors reachable by email, phone, or video call whenever you need guidance.
Assessment on this programme is entirely assignment-based. There are no examinations. Each of the six modules is assessed through a single written assignment, making six submissions in total across the full programme.
Assignments are designed to mirror real-world project challenges. You will be expected to engage critically with relevant project management theory, apply established frameworks to genuine organisational scenarios, and where appropriate, draw directly on projects you are currently managing or have recently delivered. Every submission requires rigorous analysis, original thinking, and evidence-based reasoning at Level 7 standard.
For practising project professionals, this approach is a clear advantage. Your live project experience becomes the foundation of your academic work, and every assignment has the potential to add direct value to your organisation.
If you have prior postgraduate study or significant professional experience in project management, programme delivery, or a closely related field, you may not need to complete every module from scratch. TNHE Institute’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process assesses whether your existing knowledge and competencies meet the requirements of specific modules.
Where your prior learning is verified as current, credible, and directly relevant, you may be awarded academic credit for one or more modules, reducing your remaining study commitment and helping you qualify sooner.
RPL is assessed on an individual basis. Evidence must be specific to the module in question and must demonstrate achievement at Level 7 standard. To explore whether your background qualifies, contact our admissions team or visit our dedicated RPL guidance page before you apply.
This programme is designed for motivated people who are ready to invest in their future. Here is what we look for.
